Dunster
Dunster is a picturesque village located on the fringes of Exmoor. Characterised by thatched cottages, a unique octagonal yarn market and the romantic, turreted, Dunster Castle, the village is steeped in history and contains in the region of two hundred listed buildings.

Glastonbury
The mystical town of Glastonbury is just a 45 minute drive from the Mount Somerset Hotel & Spa. Glastonbury is home Glastonbury Tor which affords some of the best views over Somerset as well as the infamous Glastonbury music festival.

Taunton
Taunton is Somerset's principle town. An historic market town set on the banks of the River Tone between the Quantock, Blackdown and Brendon Hills. It has a bustling and diverse shopping area, a thriving cultural scene, and excellent educational and health services.

Somerset County Cricket
Taunton is the home of Somerset County Cricket Club so whether you would like to watch the array of matches taking place at the ground or visit the Somerset cricket museum which contains extensive reference libraries and collections, held on behalf of I. Zingari, Somerset Stragglers, Somerset Wyverns and the England's woman's cricket association who have moved their headquarters to Taunton.

Taunton Racecourse
Taunton Racecourse is England's youngest National Hunt racecourse and one of the most beautifully located racecourses in the country, with outstanding views across the racecourse to the wooded slopes of the Blackdown Hills, yet only a few minutes drive from the Mount Somerset Hotel and the centre of Taunton.

The West Somerset steam railway, a true country branch line of the old Great Western Railway is full of fascination whether you are looking for a nostalgic ride back in time through lovely countryside or to study the railway and industrial heritage which the line preserves.

The Museum of Somerset
The Museum of Somerset, which is located in Taunton Castle, is free to enter and is open from 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday and on Bank Holiday Mondays.
